#WCW: Jennifer Lawrence + My Favorite 'Silver Linings Playbook' Scene
Jennifer Lawrence can make me laugh as she speaks with press after her Oscar win, gives me the chills in 'The Hunger Games', and makes me cry in 'Silver Linings Playbook.' She is not afraid to be herself and is daring with every move she makes. That is what makes her beautiful, and makes her my #WomanCrushWednesday.
In the clips below you will see why she is naturally funny as she spoke to press when she won Best Actress at the Oscars last year, and why she pulls at my heartstrings in the following scenes from 'Silver Linings Playbook.'
"You're afraid to be alive, you're afraid to live," she yells in the first clip of SLP.
It is very poignant for me because many of us are in fact afraid to live. Afraid to be ourselves, to say what we feel, and stopping ourselves from what we feel is truest to us. Why? Maybe because we are afraid of what others think, what society says is right or wrong, or because we are not comfortable in our own skin. Whenever I feel afraid, I remind myself that it is not as serious as I am convincing myself to be it is, and if would I rather be living bravely or living cowardly? One day we will not be here, so take the risk, and pay attention to what you feel.
"When life reaches out a moment like this, it's a sin if you don't reach back, and it will haunt you the rest of your days like your cursed. You're facing a big challenge in your life right now, at this very moment, right here. That girl loves you she really, really loves you and I dont know if Nicki ever did, but she sure as hell dosen't love you right now. I'm telling ya' don't f*** this up," Robert De Niro says in the first part of the second clip to Bradley Cooper.
"The only way you could meet my crazy, is by doing something crazy yourself. Thank you, I love you. I knew it the minute I met you. I'm sorry it took so long for me to catch up, I just got stuck. Pat," Lawrence and Cooper say as they read a letter together as the second clip of the movie ends.
The first lines from the second clip are so special because sometimes we pay attention to the wrong, people, wrong moments, and do not take the right opportunities! Put your pride aside and do not lose something amazingly great because you are not allowing yourself to see it!
Need I say more about the second quote? At times people we love may not be at the level we are so it may take them time to catch up. Maybe it will be your happily ever after, or maybe it may be too late for them because you continued with your life and found someone who loves you genuinely.
Take chances, do not be afraid, and live! Xxo, Selvin Paris
